Kum Sun Schmidt

Kum Sun (nee Shin) Schmidt, age 67, passed away December 8, 2023. Born in Chorwon, Republic of Korea, to her beloved parents, the late Tong Kun Shin and Mal Yeo Kim.

Kum is survived by her loving husband, Matthew M. Schmidt and their adoring sons, Paul M. Schmidt, Karl M. Schmidt, and Peter M. Schmidt.

Although Kum had moved from where she was born, home was always wherever her husband and sons were. Her greatest love was her family, second only to our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a loving, caring, and strong woman and anyone who was lucky enough to meet her, were immediately drawn to her love and warmth.

Kum loved to cook for her family and friends, frequenting the Korean market and Costco to share her love of food with anyone to come to her table. In her free time, if she wasn’t watching Korean dramas, you could find her on her iPhone or laptop. She was a very curious and intelligent woman, always looking to learn something new.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, December 13, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA.  Interment Private.
