LaMar Schaeffer

LaMar Eugene Schaeffer “Pinky”, 83, of Drexel Hill, PA formerly of Pottsville, PA, passed away on August 22, 2021.

Born in Pottsville, PA in 1938, he was the son of the late Vincent, Sr. and Ruth (nee Reichert) Schaeffer. LaMar was a graduate of Overbrook High School. He served proudly in the US Army. He was a simple man who enjoyed the small things in life like a trip to the dollar store, a good cup of coffee, and a hot dog. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

LaMar was predeceased by his loving wife, Betty Jane. He was the loving father of LaMar Schaeffer, Jr. (Frances), Marianne Albanese (Tom), Patricia Ochs (Chris), Thomas Schaeffer (Elaine), Michelle Johnson (Jim), and Tara McGrorty (Bill); caring grandfather of Andrew (Kate), Erin, and Madeline Schaeffer, Marla and Hannah Albanese, Adam, Morgan, and Cara Ochs, Isabella Schaeffer, and Bridget, Kyle, and Jake Johnson and great-grandfather of Russell LaMar; also survived by  his siblings, Stratton Schaeffer, Ruthann Hockenbrock, and Vincent Schaeffer.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
