Lawrence M. Kane

Lawrence M. Kane, age 89, of Clifton Heights, PA, a cherished member of his community sadly passed away on November 24, 2024.

Born in South Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John A. and Elizabeth (née McGonigle) Kane.

Lawrence was a proud graduate of Southeast Catholic High School. After high school, he honorably served in the United States Navy, demonstrating not just a commitment to his country, but also embodying values of service and dedication that he carried with him throughout his life. Lawrence went on to build a commendable career as an Assistant Store Manager at the A & P and SuperFresh Supermarkets. 

An avid Philadelphia Sports fan, Lawrence found joy in cheering for his beloved teams, reliving the thrill of victory and the hardship of defeat alongside his friends and family. These shared experiences of excitement and camaraderie were a part of what made his life rich and fulfilling.

Above all, Lawrence was a dedicated family man at heart. His deep love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them. 

Lawrence was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. “Marge” (nee Gardler) Kane; the loving father of Lawrence Kane (Keith Scriven), Elizabeth Simms (Tom), Joseph Kane (Michele), Theresa Kane and the late Margaret Ann Rodini (Ken). He was the proud grandfather of nine; Jill Sarcia (Adam), Matt Rodini (Jess), Dan Rodini, Timothy Kane (Kellee), Andrew Simms (Krystina), Trisha Simms, Colin Kane, Kevin Kane, and Brianna Zay; and caring great-grandfather of five; Jacob, Addison, Carter, Morrison and Dean. Lawrence is also survived by his sister, Maryanne Murphy, and two brothers, Michael Kane and Richard Kane. He is predeceased by his three brothers, John Kane, James Kane, and Anthony Kane.

 Family and friends will gather to honor Lawrence’s life on Saturday, November 30, 2024, commencing with a Viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 30 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
