Leonisa Surquia

Leonisa “Leonie” Surquia (nee Vergara), age 93, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on July 13, 2022.

Born in Lucena, Philippines in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Senando Vergara and Aquilina Bermas. Leonisa was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Philadelphia, PA. She enjoyed gardening, meeting new people, and making friends.

Leonisa was the beloved wife of the late Pacifico Llave Surquia; loving mother of Jose Surquia (Victoria), the late German Surquia, the late Senandito Surquia (Luth), Edeliza Prendergast (John), Ederlinda Lagrosa (the late Apolonio), and the late Edwina Surquia (Richard); caring grandmother of Kristine (Orlando), Hanz (Janice), Joanne (Jerry), Lisa Marie, Tuesday (Dominic), Vladymir (Arlene), Cynthia (Jason), May Sunday, Sean, and Shelby; adoring great-grandmother of Tyson, Hazelyn, Christian, Vien, Isaiah, Vian, Dominic II, Timothy, Abigayle, Violet, Pacifica, Viel, Selene, and Eli.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2022 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, 610-449-0300, and to her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Saturday at Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA 19083. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
