Lloyd “Rick” Yeager, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at the age of 68.

Rick was born on May 22, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent his childhood in Cohasset, Massachusetts. He attended Cohasset High School and briefly studied at Franklin Pierce College before dedicating himself to a distinguished four-year career in the Navy, serving aboard nuclear submarines.

In his youth, Rick enjoyed an active lifestyle, indulging in hobbies such as skiing, sailing, golfing, ice skating and traveling. These passions infused his life with adventure and joy.

Upon moving to the Philadelphia area, Rick transitioned his allegiance from Boston to embrace Philadelphia sports teams. He especially enjoyed attending Phillies games with his family.

Later in life, his love for outdoor activities continued, especially during warm weather, when he could be found landscaping, tending to his koi pond, barbecuing, or bird watching in his backyard.

He was constantly immersed in the world of technology and gadgets, finding endless enjoyment in tinkering with his latest "toys" and exploring new tech trends with enthusiasm.

He found great fulfillment in building and working with tools. His meticulous attention to detail and passion for building allowed him to create anything he set his mind to. His craftsmanship extended to his successful home improvement company, where his skills flourished. He embraced any opportunity to bond with his children as he worked on projects around their homes with them as well.

Rick was known for his encyclopedic knowledge and practical problem-solving skills. Whether it was fixing household issues, providing computer help, offering advice on cars, and so much more, Rick was always the person friends and family turned to for solutions. He leaves behind a legacy of knowledge and reliability, always offering a solution to any problem.

Rick cherished every moment spent with his family, finding pure happiness in their company whether traveling together, enjoying peaceful beach days, or simply sharing everyday joys together. His unwavering care made everyone feel deeply loved, and he delighted in being there for family and friends, always eager to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom whenever needed.

He emanated positivity, bringing light to those around him, and expressed deep gratitude for the support he received during his many hospital visits.

Rick Yeager will be remembered fondly for his warmth, generosity, and devoted support for those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his memory will be cherished deeply.

Rick is survived by his children Stacey, David (Farzana), and Danielle, his former wife Dana, grandchildren Nicole, Aron, and Zayn, and siblings Bob (the late Karen) Yeager, Doug (Kathi) Yeager, and Caroline (Bill) Dulaney. He was preceded in death by his cherished dog, Franklin, who passed away shortly before him.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation service on Sunday, July 21st, from 12 - 2pm at Donohue Funeral Home: 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Shortly before 2pm, there will be a flag folding ceremony to honor Rick's military service, followed by a private Celebration of Life for close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bryn Mawr Hospital or the American Cancer Society, or suggests planting a tree in Rick's memory to honor his love for nature and the outdoors.
