Lois Charles

Lois A. Charles (nee Allen), age 64, of King of Prussia, PA, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2016. Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Marie Allen (nee Beatty) of Havertown, PA.



Lois was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, an active member of the Montgomery County Guild of Professional Artists (MCGOPA), and a member of the Delaware Valley Art League (DVAL).



Lois was an accomplished fine artist; having exhibited in various shows throughout the Philadelphia region. She especially liked to paint scenes of Valley Forge Park, scenes of Old Philadelphia, and impressionist florals. Additionally, Lois was a quilt-maker. She recently won an award in an international show for her "Home at Valley Forge 1777-1778" handmade quilt.



Lois lived happily in King of Prussia, PA, married to her caring husband David W. Charles for 45 years. She was the mother of three grown children, David "Chris", Andrew W., and Sarah A., and loving grandmother to Elise M. and Christian J. Charles.



In addition to Lois' husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by her siblings William C. Allen (Susan), Janet M. Foster (Michael), Marie H. Riley (Jack) and James P. Allen (Joanne).



Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 9:00 AM-10:45 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA (610) 989-9600. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
