Love Marshall (nee Auman) died peacefully at her home in Dunwoody Village, Newtown Square, PA on Saturday, April 29, 2017. She was born on September 1, 1924 and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis E. Marshall, Esq., a prominent Philadelphia attorney, her beloved daughter, Michalisa (Marshall) Pugh Esq. and son-in-law, Carl Rist.
Love was a strong and independent woman whose legacy is a determined strength of purpose and abiding love for family. Throughout her life she created joy and comfort for her children, laughter for her friends, and love beyond measure for her husband.
She was a survivor of the Great Depression and a woman of America's Greatest Generation. She married Frank in 1942 and supported him during his service as a tank commander with General Patton fighting across Europe through the end of World War II.
After raising her children, Love took up the sport of golf. She became an avid golfer and this continued to her very last days. She expanded the putting green at Dunwoody Village for all to use and was often seen practicing. It is said she was practicing those elusive putts on the day she passed. During her Dunwoody days, she became a fierce competitor in shuffleboard, pool, and Rummikub, where she often vanquished her opponents.
