Madhukanta B. "Margie" Jani

Madhukanta B. “Margie” Jani, age 80, of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 31, 2022.   Born in Sadra, India, she was the daughter of the late Natarwalal and Sakriben Jani.  

Madhukanta was the beloved wife of the late Bhogilal Manilal Jani.  Dear mother of Neeta Dave (Paramtap), Gautam Jani (Roopal), Seema Stracciolini (Chip) and the late Pankaj Jani.  She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Krishna Jani (Haris), Arjun Jani, Marisa Stracciolini, Jai Jani, Dominic Stracciolini, and Sarina Jani; and one great-granddaughter on the way, who she was eager to meet.

Madhukanta greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. She showed her love through cooking and feeding family, friends, neighbors, and other loved ones. Madhukanta also provided immeasurable support to her late husband, Bhogilal, by attending Brahmin Samaj events, Lions’ Club meetings, and assisting with his pharmacy businesses over the course of nearly forty years. It was important to both Madhukanta and Bhogilal never to forget their roots. In furtherance of this, they often hosted and helped to plan an annual Barabhavan, a traditional celebration during which family and community members come together to honor their ancestry. 

She and Bhogilal often shared a cup of coffee at Llanerch Diner in Upper Darby while treating their children and grandchildren to a fun midnight breakfast. Madhukanta personally loved ice-cream but preferred the rest of her food to be piping hot.
