Marcelene Carroll

Marcelene I. "Marcy" Carroll (née Gidaro), 78, of Drexel Hill and formerly of Yeadon, PA passed away on April 24, 2013 at Little Flower Manor.

Born in Mount Carmel, PA in 1935, she was the daughter of Irene (née Zanella) and Joseph Gidaro.

Marcy was a devoted mother and after her children were grown, she went to work as a medical records clerk at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital where she worked for 20 years. She enjoyed being with people and after her retirement became very active with the Seniors Group at St. Andrew's Parish in Drexel Hill, eventually accepting the position of Vice President of the group.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, spending time with her children, grandchildren and going to the casinos to play the slots. She was also a huge Phillies and Flyers fan and enjoyed watching the Eagles. She was a good friend to so many and will be missed by all.

Her family would like to thank all of her wonderful friends whose love, prayers and visits made such a difference to Marcy in her last months and especially the staff at Little Flower who all went above and beyond in the care they gave.

Marcy was the beloved wife of the late Bernard M. Carroll, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage; loving mother of Jolene M. Gallagher (John), Dennis J. Carroll (Mary), Bernard J. Carroll (Marguerite), Marcine M. Guillemette (Jean) and Richard B. Carroll (Dawn); dear grandmother of John A. Gallagher, III, Lauren Carroll, Kellyann Gallagher, Nicole Carroll, Sean Guillemette, James Carroll, Bryan Anderson Carroll, Jacqueline N. Guillemette, Siobhan Carroll, Dana Carroll, Jenna Lynn Carroll, Nickolas Carroll, Alannah Carroll, Tiffany Carroll and Rileigh Carroll; great-grandmother of Nathan Carroll, Raymond Bulovas, Jamison Joseph Carroll and Giusseppe Fabrizio; dear sister of Richard Gidaro (Patricia). Also survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Seroski (John), Katherine Nestico (Victor), Nancy Hauer (the late Jack), Marie Poboy (Joseph), Sylvia Ruths (Joseph) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
