Margaret Barker

Margaret M. Barker (nee Galyo), age 88, a 50 year resident of Havertown, PA, passed away on June 30, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Mary Galyo (nee Hamas). Mrs. Barker was a homemaker, an avid bingo player, casino patron and loved to knit and crochet. She brought a smile to everyone that met her.



She married the love of her life, Francis (Frank) Barker, on the 15th February 1947, at St. John Nepoucene Catholic Church. Her husband served active duty in WWII in the construction arm of the U.S. Navy known as the "Seabees" in the South Pacific.



She is survived by her children Karen Barker, Robert (Sheri) Barker, Christine (the late Kevin) Johnson, and Timothy J. (Kelly) Barker, her sisters and brothers Mary Gallagher (the late Jack), Rev. Msgr. John Galyo, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Francis J. Barker, her grandson Robert Barker and her brothers George Galyo, Joseph Galyo and sister Elizabeth (Betty) Marnell.



Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Saturday, July 6, 2013 9:30-10:20 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Manoa and Shelbourne Roads, Havertown, PA followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
