Margaret Gallagher

Margaret M. “Peg” Gallagher, age 90, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2019.

Born in Manhattan, NY and lucky to be raised in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (nee Marron) Hamill.

Peg blazed a trail to leave New York for Philadelphia which lead to her family following thereafter.

She was the “queen of entertaining”, had the amazing ability to make people happy, had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh!  She was an avid reader who also loved to travel the world, especially to Ireland and many parts of Europe.  Peg was an extremely generous person to all.

Peg was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Gallagher; the loving mother of Rosemary Mohn (Chris), Michael J. Gallagher (Kim), and the late Daniel P. Gallagher.  She was the devoted grandmother of Deirdre, Ryan, Jude, and Brian.  Peg is survived by her sister, Anne Haney, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her siblings, Alice Hamill, John Hamill, and Baby Margaret Hamill.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Tuesday, December 17, 2019, 9:00 - 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.  Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
