Margaret Mary Porter

Margaret (Peg) Porter (nee McAndrews), age 99, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 1, 2024. Predeceased by her devoted husband James P. Porter.  Beloved daughter of the late Edward and Bridget (nee Walsh) McAndrews.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the youngest of 12 children.  Peg went on to marry the love of her life, Jim, and together they raised 7 children in Sharon Hill.  She was a long time parishioner of Holy Spirit Parish before moving to Newtown Square and joining St. Anastasia Parish.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and spending time at the Jersey shore.  Most importantly, she cherished being with her family.

Peg is survived by her loving children, James Porter (Maryanne), Maureen Irwin (Jim), Peggy Moore (Jim), Kevin Porter (Leslie), Colleen O’Sullivan (Jim), Anne Coogan (Rich), and Patty Pantalone (Larry); 25 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; And many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Peg’s viewing Thursday, June 6th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment is at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
