Margaret Prendergast

Margaret Ann Prendergast (née Tate), 75, of West Chester, PA passed away on October 27, 2019.

Born in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (née Bonner) Tate.

Margaret was a 1962 graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame De Namur High School. She enjoyed coaching basketball and track & field at St. Charles Borromeo in Drexel Hill for many years. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for over 25 years at Camilla Hall in Malvern.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who truly cared about her family and helping others.

Margaret was the beloved wife of John B. Prendergast, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; loving mother of Cheryl Matz, Stacy Temple (Les), Kimberly Venzie (Jeff) and Patricia Prendergast; devoted Gram of Sam Clark, Abby Matz, Sully Clark, Gannon Matz, Luke Venzie & Thomas Venzie; dear sister of Joseph Tate (Diane), the late James Tate (Millie) and the late Frances Hoster; sister-in-law of the late Paul Prendergast (the late Dorothy); dear aunt of Linda, Pat, Debbie, Jim, Terri, Kelly, Heather and Dan.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:30-10:50 AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 at SS Philip & James Church, 107 N. Ship Rd, Exton, PA 19341 followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM.
