Margaret I. Willey

Margaret I. Willey 95, of Downingtown, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 7, 2024, after a period of declining health. She was a faithful Christian who loved her church, family and friends and prayed for them daily.

Born in 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, Margaret was the daughter of the late Percy and Amy (née Burton) Uttermul.

She was a former resident of Simpson Gardens in Lansdowne until moving to St. Martha Center in Downingtown, PA. 

After retiring from CNA Insurance in 1993, while living at Simpsom Gardens, she did volunteer work for many years at Delaware County Hospital.

She enjoyed going to church where she was a member of Bible Baptist Church (Upper Darby, PA) for 30 years.  She loved dogs, Arby’s, Perkins, and Chick Fil-A.  She also enjoyed shopping at Boscov’s and visiting Ocean City, NJ.

She is survived by her only son and his wife, Tom & Becky Slovenski of Simpsonville, SC;  two granddaughters, Kelley Pace (Brantley) and Brittany Sullivan (Levar); three great- grandsons, James Pace, Michael Sullivan, and Elijah Sullivan; one nephew, David Rapine; and cousins Jim and Joan Burton.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Rapine and her husband Bill Rapine; niece, Lois Rapine; and her very dear friend of many years, Woody Cope.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA followed by her Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment Forest Hills/Shalom Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley, PA.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Compassus Hospice, and St. Martha’s Center for their love and care. In addition, the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Lynn Noble, Jenn Ollis, Marsha Baron, Yvonne Schmidt and Frank Shaffer for their visits, care, and love.
