Margarete Anna Ford
And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest. (Psalm 55:6)
On Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2013, our beloved mother, Margarete Anna Ford, entered into eternal rest. She was born on June 27, 1936 in Frankfurt, Germany. Margarete was the daughter of Franz and Franziska Gossmann, who preceded her in death. She received her formal education in the public schools in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1957, she relocated to the United States where she worked many years for Anthony Boch, renowned wigmaker. Margarete took great pride in her work, having created a ponytail for the legendary TV personality Sally Starr.
Margarete was an avid and devoted member of the Humane Society, the Philadelphia Zoo and numerous other organizations. She took great pride in gardening-vegetables and flowers. Her only passion that may eclipsed her love of gardening was her devotion to her beloved pets. Rarely, if ever, did she reject a stray that was found at her door.
Margarete will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Sigrid Gossmann of Frankfurt, Germany, Linda Joyner of Upper Darby, Pa, and Taffy Davis of Colorado Springs, Co. One son-in-law, Bruce Joyner of Upper
Darby, Pa. Four grandsons, Richard, Brandon, Marvin, and Terrence. One great-grand daughter, Raiyanah, one great grandson, Ayden, and a host of other
relatives and friends.
