Marguerite O'Hare-McCarter

Marguerite O’Hare-McCarter (née Trainor), 77, of Exton, PA passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024 surrounded by family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1947, Marguerite was the daughter of the late Frederick and Virginia (née Gilman) Trainor.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joel Harvey McCarter; loving mother of Brian Michael O’Hare, Jr., Megan Elizabeth O’Hare, and the late Patrick Joseph O’Hare; dear sister of John F. Trainor (late Anne), Robert S. Trainor (Joan), and Richard M. Trainor (Lorraine); dear aunt of Robert T. Trainor, her most devoted friend and confidante, as well as many other nieces and nephews. 

Marguerite earned her Associate’s Degree and worked as a Medical Editor in the Healthcare field, along with practicing as a home care nurse and medical office nurse prior. Marguerite was wickedly funny, intelligent, and never at a loss for words or a witty comment. A passionate lover of animals, she was a devoted dog and cat mom to over a dozen lucky animals who were fortunate enough to come into her life throughout her many years. She was an avid cinephile and loved watching classic movies, her favorites being The Godfather and Doctor Zhivago. Her hobbies were many and included interior design, antiquing, European history, reading, a good poker game, and ever the intellectually stimulating conversation or debate. Her impact on the lives of those who loved her was more profound than she realized, and she will be missed more than she will ever know. We take solace in the fact that she is finally at peace with her beloved soulmate Harv and reunited again with her Patrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2024 followed by her Memorial Service 10:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA. Interment Private.
