Maria R. DiGiacomo (nee Donofrio) of Norristown, PA, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 71. She was born on August 5, 1953 in Norristown, PA.
She was the daughter of the late Rose (Radatta) and Frank Donofrio, and the beloved wife of Dr. Philip J. DiGiacomo, Jr., with whom she shared 26 years of marriage.
Maria was a skilled nurse, devoted wife, loving mother, mom-mom, sister, aunt and friend. She lived life with a deep faith and a joyful heart and was dedicated to her loved ones, her nursing career, and to the Catholic church. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed trips to the beach with her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, yoga, shopping, and volunteering in her community.
Maria possessed an air of grace and kindness, and she lit up every room she entered with her beautiful smile and her generous, uplifting spirit.
Maria is survived by her husband, Dr. Philip J DiGiacomo, Jr., her children; Joe Lashinger (Joey, Mia, Leo) and Kristen Bielan (Jack, Tommy), stepchildren; Heather DiGiacomo-Trueblood, Caroline Fell, Philip DiGiacomo III, and 13 grandchildren. She is survived by many loving brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends.
Maria will be missed every minute of every day by all of those who loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, Monday, April 28, 2025 in the Chapel at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by her Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., #250, Philadelphia, PA 19106, www.alz.org, or to Our Lady of Assumption Church, at the above address, in her memory.
