Marie E. Carr

Marie E. Carr (nee Hazel), age 86, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023 surrounded by her children. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late David G. and Lillian M. (nee Ganley) Hazel.

Marie was the beloved wife of the love of her life, the late Harry F. Carr, Sr. She was also the loving mother of Harry F. Carr (Maureen), Donna M. James (Michael), and James D. Carr (Cheryl); cherished grandmother of Kimberly (Chris), the late Matthew, Brian, Eric (Dana), Jaclyn, Lauren (Rocco), Kate, and Andrew; and dear sister of Frank Hazel, and the late David and George Hazel.

Marie loved animals, especially Buttons her cat and her many dogs through her life, Teddy, Duchess, Pepper, Lady, Savannah and Lacie. She was an avid reader, bear collector and decorator of all things Americana.

The joy of her life was her family. Marie and Harry F. Carr, Sr.’s love was a model for all their children. The family is comforted by knowing that they are together again. Her family will cherish the memories created through Sunday dinners, birthday parties, family vacations, Christmas celebrations and those ordinary moments shared in life that are now treasured memories.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Visitation on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
