Marie Lutz (nee Lefebvre), age 79, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Bala Cynwyd and Drexel Hill, PA, was surrounded by family when she finally lost her fight on Thursday December 11, 2014.
Marie was born March 28, 1935 in New Bedford, MA to the late Emma (nee Foisy) and Philip Lefebvre. After high school, she attended and was graduated as a registered nurse from Massachusetts General Hospital. Marie was a dedicated nurse who entered the US Navy in 1957 and served at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California until 1959. For the next 37 years, she worked at a number of facilities including Fitzgerald Mercy and Saint Mary's Hospital. She was compassionate and professional as she cared for each patient.
She was unified in marriage to the late Alfred J. Lutz, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA on June 27, 1959.
She is survived by eight children - Donna (Doug) Boettger, Alfred (Marilia) Lutz, Cynthia (Christopher) Young, Janice Lutz, Sandra Smith, Christopher Lutz, Steven (Evann) Lutz, and Beth (Dan) Crompton; twelve grandchildren, Mikala (Cason), Arianna, and JJ Boettger; Kirsten, Karissa, Kyle and Kevin Smith; Logan and Sarah Young; and Daniel, Matthew and Lizzie Crompton; her sister in law Carol Guiseppe and many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her bother Philip Lefebvre.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 7:00 - 9:00 PM Friday December 19, 2014 at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300 and to her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Matthias Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA. Interment will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
