Marie J. Renzi

Marie J. Renzi passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 90. 

Born in St. Davids, PA, Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Katherine (nee Henry) Renzi, and was a long-time resident of Wayne, PA. Marie is survived by her brother Anthony Renzi; nephews and nieces Eugene Renzi (Darla), Paula Hines, Joseph Renzi (Mara), Heather Moyer (Bill), Eric Harkins (Tara), Chris Renzi, and Jennifer Renzi (Carlos Delgado), as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Joseph Renzi, Elizabeth Renzi Kerr, Eugene Renzi, and Katharine Renzi Harkins.

After graduating from St. Katharine of Siena School in Wayne, Marie attended Immaculata College for one year and then enrolled in a business school in Philadelphia. Marie’s professional career was in the advertising business, where she worked for many years at N. W. Ayer & Son advertising agency, first in Philadelphia, then in New York City. She loved to tell stories about her work, including well-known ad campaigns she worked on and celebrities she encountered. She read voraciously throughout her life, making time daily to keep up with local, national, and global news as well as politics. After retiring, Marie was a fixture on the sidewalks of Wayne, visiting the bank, post office, library, pharmacy, the Farmers Market, and her cherished coffee shop, all on foot. She often made trips to Philadelphia by train to shop and meet friends for lunch. She was the family’s favorite “Aunt Bob,” always ready to joke and laugh, and always about to sit down to a cup of tea accompanied by something sweet. Marie was known as a thoughtful and caring person and over the years always took the time to remember her friends’ and family’s birthdays with a greeting card.

Family and friends are invited to Marie’s Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA.
