Marie L. Sliwinski

Marie L. Sliwinski, age 96, of Darby PA, sadly passed away on July 9th, 2024.  

Born in North Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Marie (née Bonnett) Ley. 

Marie dedicated many years of her life as an employee of Lerro’s Candy Company, where her hard work and commitment left a lasting impact.  

Marie treasured times with her family at the beach in Wildwood, NJ, enjoyed trips to Hawaii, and savored meals at the Erin Pub as well as frequenting the South Avenue Burger King. 

 She enjoyed dressing up for the holidays, collecting tea cups, saucers, and shot glasses - each piece a reflection of her vibrant spirit - and loved carousel horses too.

 Marie's proudest accomplishments included her longstanding membership with AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary Post 118, and her role as a Girl Scout Leader. Her dedication to service and leadership left an indelible mark on those around her.

 A testament to her enduring love and loyalty to her late husband, Napoleon Raymond Sliwinski, was her frequent visits to his grave, where she also found great comfort and solace.

 Marie is survived by her sons, Raymond Sliwinski, Jeffrey Sliwinski, and David Sliwinski (Theresa), her grandchildren, Loretta, Robert, David, and Justin, as well as her 14 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers, Karl Ley and Harry Ley.

 Services to honor and remember Marie will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Avenue, Morton, PA, beginning with a Viewing, 9:30 to 10:30 AM and followed by a Funeral Service, 10:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be held directly thereafter at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
