Marie F. Stewart

Marie Frances Stewart (nee O’Kane), passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, at the age of 91. She was born on May 16, 1932. Marie was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marie is survived by her sons Frank Stewart (Diane), Joseph Stewart (Wendy), Kevin Stewart (Lori), daughter Debbie Stewart (Bob), and brother Jack O’Kane (Millie). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis Stewart, parents Catherine and John O’Kane, and son William Stewart.

Marie was an active member of St. Dorothy’s Church in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort and solace in her religious community.

In her free time, Marie enjoyed bowling, traveling, and being involved in various clubs. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories and sharing laughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 9:30-10:45 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024 at St. Dorothy’s Church, 4910 Township Line Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marie’s memory to Operation Smile, located at 3641 Faculty Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23453. This organization was dear to Marie's heart, as she believed in their mission to provide life-changing surgeries to children with cleft lip and cleft palate.
