Marie graduated from Palmerton Nursing School, Palmerton, PA as a Registered Nurse
She served as a US Army Nurse, reaching the rank of Lieutenant, in France during WWll, where she met her husband, Harold. Her career spanned over forty years, from being an operating room nurse in the European theatre of war to Arlington hospital in VA, Marymount University, and Carl Vinson Hall in McLean, VA.
Marie was caretaker not only as a professional, but throughout the rest of her life as well. She raised and took care of her five children and always had time to counsel, listen to, provide advice and generally look after the well-being of her extended family, friends and neighbors. She hosted rabbits, dogs, cats, mice and even a few birds in home as pets. Her garden was important to her and she had a fondness for good fresh tomato and red Geraniums
She dabbled in the arts, painting and other hobbies; but, her real talent and love was for good literature, a good laugh and good conversation, whether the topics were politics, a good book, the courts, or just the general ambiguities of life and what was fair. She had a gift for listening, reaching out to others and sharing the wealth of knowledge and compassion acquired during her many years.
To honor Marie come join us in her Celebration of Life or read a good book, write a letter or call and check in on someone who could use it.
