Marilyn Lawson (nee Lawyer), age 63, passed away on May 21, 2016. Marilyn was born on June 3, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and departed this life on the evening of May 21, 2016. Marilyn was the youngest child to the late Bernard and Ann Lawyer. Her siblings are James Lawyer and the late Gwendolyn Lawyer. She received her high school diploma from West Philadelphia High School; and received her Associate's degree in Business from Community College of Philadelphia in 1973. Marilyn worked for many years at Acme Markets as a payroll clerk where she retired. Marilyn was a resident of Philadelphia for most of her life and was a member of Millennium Baptist Church in Philadelphia. In 1992 she moved to Sharon Hill where she lived 20 plus years. She became a devoted member of Union Memorial United Methodist Church of Darby in which she lovingly served on the Senior Choir. Marilyn loved to sing and was the loudest one on the choir. She loved to serve the Lord in any way she could. Marilyn was not shy in telling people about the goodness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her famous quote was: "EVERY DAY IS SUNDAY. EVERY DAY IS A DAY TO PRAISE THE LORD." Marilyn was the candy lady of the neighborhood. The children would sit on the porch and talk with her; she would tell them that it's important to get their "eduMUSTcation". Marilyn loved everyone and was always willing to give a kiss and a hug. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy: two daughters, Sherisha Fullenwellen and Tiffany Calhoun. There are two "bonded by love" children: Kenny and Bonita Hudson; one brother, Deacon James Lawyer; and one sister-in-law, Debbie Lawyer. She had a loving companion in James E. Lawson as well as 4 grandchildren: Kayla, James, Jonathan Jr, and DhaZhaan. Along with a host of "bonded by love" grandchildren, she had two son-in-laws: Jonathan Fullenwellen, Sr. and Rashad Calhoun.
