Marion Dillon

June 1, 1914 — February 7, 2018

Marion L Dillon died on February 7, 2018 at age 103. She was the daughter of Rocco and Natina Pistone. Marion was born in Cambridge, Mass. grew up in Jamaica Plain and became a well-known concert pianist; playing in all the major concert halls in the greater Boston area. Her most cherished memories were playing for Mrs. Jack Gardner at the Isabella Gardner Museum.



She married John B Learson in 1946 and had a son. After John's sudden death in 1954 Marion worked as a bookkeeper for the Wellesley Public Schools and Mass Dept of Education.



She met Richard Dillon on a cruise to Bermuda in the spring of 1973 and they were married several months later. For many years thereafter they spent 6 months in West Palm Beach and 6 months in Wellesley, Mass. Known for her cooking and hospitality, she published a cookbook entitled Cooking A La Marianina.



She is survived by her son, John, his wife, Mandy, and grandchildren Stephen and Katherine.



The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10 from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at 11 am at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000. Interment will be private.
