Marjorie Jean “Margie” Labar, of Broomall PA, treasured mother and dedicated wife, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025 at the age of 60.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Joanne Norma (née Grote) Jones and the late Ronald Edward Jones.
Margie’s passions were many. She found joy in swimming, the shore, and was a dedicated card and game player. But her most beloved tradition was hosting her legendary Christmas parties, where she brought family together from near and far to celebrate the holiday with warmth, laughter, and love.
Her passion for life and her family were her most distinguished qualities. Margie’s personality, gift for storytelling and love permeated every aspect of the family and everyone she met. She was always the first to offer her time and support, yet the last to ask for anything in return. Her selflessness and generosity touched everyone she encountered.
Margie’s greatest pride was in her family, especially her grandchildren, and the close group of friends she lovingly called “Gertie’s Gang.” She cherished the opportunity to share their stories and accomplishments with anyone who would listen, often lighting up a room with enthusiasm and pride.
Margie was the adored wife of Joseph A. Labar. They shared 33 beautiful years together; the loving mother of Matthew Jones (Laura), Brandi Torba (Bryan), Joseph Labar, and Ryan Labar. She was the devoted and caring grandmother of Joshua, Elijah, Jack, Christian, and Charlotte. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Jones (Kathy) and sister, Jodi Bayliss (Ed) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to honor Margie at her Viewing on Monday, April 7, 2025, 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Service, 11:00 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
