Martha Anne Englerth, age 96, a lifelong resident of Downingtown, PA, passed away on August 23, 2014 at Freedom Village in Coatesville, PA.
Born in Downingtown on September 24, 1917 to the late John J. and Laura (nee Rimel) Englerth, Martha was a graduate of Downingtown High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania. Martha worked as a Divisional Personnel Manager for Pepperidge Farms for 20 years and was the first woman in the Campbell Soup Company to hold a titled management position.
Martha is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews Harry Furniss, III, Rebecca Englerth, Robert Koch, Mary (nee Englerth) Snyder, Rachel (nee Koch) Herrmann, Janet (nee Englerth) Mara and Deborah (nee Englerth) Wilson. She is also survived by her 9 grandnieces and grandnephews and her 8 great- grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her siblings Elizabeth Furniss, Mildred Koch, Gilbert Englerth and four brothers who died in childbirth.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 610-269-3080.
