Mary A. McDonald (nee Burns), age 85, went home to God on November 15, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Burns (nee Lavery).
Mary graduated 5th in the class of 1946 from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and was an active alumna. She helped found the school library at Mother of Divine Providence School in King of Prussia. She served as President of the Women's Guild at Mother of Divine Providence and Bishop Kenrick High School. Mary was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband James J. McDonald, her children Stephen J. and Michael F. McDonald, Ellen M. Ehinger and Mary Beth Van Trieste. She was "Nana" to 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, November 20, 2013 7:00-9:00 PM The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne (610) 989-9600 and Thursday, November 21, 2013 10:00-11:00 AM Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to Little Flower High School, 1000 W. Lycoming Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140 would be appreciated.
