Mary Anna Aldrich, 88, of Wayne, PA, died on December 19, 2018.
Born on September 19, 1930, in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Richardson Aldrich and the late Walter Seward Aldrich, M.D., who served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy during WWII and later specialized in Psychiatry.
Mary Anna earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts and an M.A. in Education at Stanford University and an E.D.D. at Columbia University. She worked for the Delaware County, PA School System in the area of Educational Psychology.
She helped pioneer programs that deinstitutionalized severely disabled children and brought them into the mainstream school system.
She played the cello, studied family history, and was an expert craftsperson. She was a member of knitting groups and made perfect argyle socks, complicated sweaters, and traditional Maine fisherman's mittens.
She is survived by a brother, Walter Reed Aldrich, of Sacramento, CA; two nephews, John Dickinson Atwood III, and Thomas Richardson Atwood, Sr. Her younger sister, Dorothy, passed away in November.

She will be interred in East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento, CA, alongside her parents.
