Mary Anne Gannon (née Foley), of Audubon, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Chester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday October 26, 2022.
Mary Anne was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Foley and raised in Woodlyn, Delaware County.
She was the beloved wife, for more than 60 years, of the late George William Gannon; loving mother of Kathleen Gannon Janavel (George) and George M. Gannon (Kimberlee); devoted grandmother of Alfred James, Mark and Jacob Janavel and Michelle, Jennifer and George Gannon (Samantha); great- grandmother of George Walter Gannon; dear sister of Dolores Cally (the late Michael) of Brookhaven, PA and Elizabeth Licata (Michael) of San Jose, CA, and the late Patricia Hackstie (Louis Hackstie). She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mary Anne was a graduate of Notre Dame Girls High School in Moylan, PA and maintained lifelong friendships with several of her classmates. She was retired from Greif Brothers Corporation in Twin Oakes, PA. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved watching Phillies games with her husband. She also enjoyed social gatherings, playing cards with friends and games on the internet, embracing technology to deepen relationships with family and making new friends.
Mary Anne loved her family dearly and lived life to its fullest. She especially enjoyed spending time with family at her summer home in Cape May, NJ. And in the winters, she enjoyed escaping with her husband to warmer climates at their home in The Villages, FL.
Mary Anne will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday November 3, 2022 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church 1325 Boot Rd, West Chester PA followed by her funeral mass 11:00 AM. Interment private.
