Mary Brzostek
May 30, 1930 — July 19, 2016
Mary E. Brzostek (nee Lukaszewicz), age 86, of Havertown, PA, formerly of Schenectady, NY, passed away on July 19, 2016 at Dominion Village in Poquoson, VA. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Victor, Sr. and Mary Lukaszewicz (nee Kuzmicka).
Mary was a longtime member of the Choir at Sacred Heart Church in Havertown, PA. She attended Mont Pleasant High School and Spencer Business School in Schenectady NY. She was an active supporter with her husband of the Cardinal O'Hara High School Band Parents, the US Naval Academy Parents' group, and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association, as well as the Schenectady General Electric Engineers' Wives, Club, where she served a term as president.
She considered her greatest accomplishment her children and grandchildren, and was overjoyed to know her first great-grandchild, a boy, will join the family in December. She was known as a marvelous hostess and generous friend. She loved playing bridge, bowling, travel, needlework, cooking and baking, creative writing, and music. When GE transferred the family to Daytona Beach, FL, Roanoke VA, and Philadelphia, she created beautiful new homes, and enthusiastically embraced each new city.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis Brzostek, and sister-in-law Florence Brzostek Kuehnel (Ernest). She is survived by her loving children Susan Thies (Gene), James Brzostek (Marian) and Kenneth Brzostek (Susan), her grandchildren Jessica Ryan (Andrew) and Melissa Thies, and her brother, Victor Lukaszewicz, Jr (Joanne)., neices and nephews Denise Krenzer (Ed), Mark Lukaszewicz, Diane Camelio (Ben), Jennifer Blaho (David); Barbie (Elton) Steele, Angela (Brian) Amorose, Dan (Brandie) Andrews, and Michael Andrews; Kate, Kimmy, Kelly and Danny Krenzer, Kristin (Aaron) Strong, Emma Strong, Todd (Julianne) Steele, Ernie Steele, Joshua Steele, and Rose Steele.
