Mary C. "Marie" Crowley

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1942, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Winifred J. Duffy (nee Roan).

Marie was the beloved wife of George J. Crowley; loving mother of Michael A. Crowley, Megan A. Maltese (John), and Shaun P. Crowley; loving grandmother of Sophia R. Maltese, and John S. Maltese, Jr.

After graduating from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia she worked several years for ACME corporate in Philadelphia in their accounting department.  She later ventured to Nabisco’s accounting department in Upper Darby.  In later years after raising her 3 children, she worked as a teacher’s aide in St. Alice’s Preschool. She ended her working career as a before/after care aide at Highland Park Elementary School. She found great pleasure working with children over many years.

Marie was a long-time parishioner of St. Alice Catholic Church in Upper Darby where she spent countless hours volunteering with the St. Alice Women’s Club, PTO, CYO, Cub Scout and Brownie organizations. She also volunteered with Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School’s Mother’s Clubs. Marie also spent endless hours running the snack stand for the 69^th Street Athletic Association during baseball seasons. Marie was a member of Take Pride in Blue supporting Upper Darby Police Officers. She was also active in the Republican Party as a Committee women for many years.

Spending time with her close circle of friends while shopping, dining, traveling, and celebrating family milestones brought her many cherished memories. Later in life, spending time with her grandchildren during her healthy years was something that brought her such great joy and happiness.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-10:25 AM Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
