Mary D. Moore, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 20, 2025. Beloved daughter to the late Luciano and Carolina (Guidobaldi) Cetroni.
Mary is survived by her children Eileen Boyle (James) and Karen Moore; Grandchildren, Jimmy, Kristen, and Ellie; Great-grandchildren, Claire, Alina, and James. She was predeceased by her husband Robert J. Moore; her son Michael Moore; and her siblings Catherine Sole and Luciano Cetroni Jr. She was the “favorite” aunt to her nephew and nieces.
Otherwise known as “Geems” to her grand and great grandchildren, Mary was a strong-willed and affectionate matriarch to her family. She loved to cook, feed people, and made the best meatballs. She immensely enjoyed her time working as a short-order cook at the Pop’s Barrell Inn in Upper Darby. Watching professional golf tournaments made Mary yell at the tv the way most people yell while watching the Philadelphia Eagles. She loved spending time snacking, gossiping and playing cards with her girlfriends, known as “The Ladies”. She would not hesitate to speak truthfully, much to her family’s occasional chagrin. She became one of Little Flower Manor’s most popular and memorable residents despite the short amount of time that she lived there. Interrupting bingo with her loud chatter and amusing the staff was her specialty.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mary’s Visitation on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Eugene’s Church, 200 S. Oak Ave, Primos, PA followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s name to Little Flower Manor, 1201 Springfield Road, Darby, PA 19023.
