Mrs. Mary Ellen Dykhouse (nee Barbeau), age 75, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on September 10, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen Barbeau (nee Watson).
Mary Ellen was a loving, friendly, strong, caring and creative woman. She worked at Christ Lutheran Church in Upper Darby for 20 years and was an active member. She planned day camps and the annual Pumpkin Patch. She was a mentor for young girls.
Mary Ellen loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren and her husband, Paul, before he passed away. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, Sci-Fi shows, especially the X-Files and Manifest. She loved traveling to Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island, family vacations, chocolate of any kind, and her dog, Bella.
Mary Ellen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul K. Dykhouse and her siblings Lucille Mazur (the late Robert) and Richard Barbeau. She is survived by her loving daughters Beth Anne Dykhouse and Christa Dykhouse (Matt). Dear grandmother of Jacob Dykhouse and Madelyn Ryan. Sister of Geri Barbeau Leonard (James), Robert Barbeau, Bernadette Verdi (Matthew), James Barbeau (Rose Ann) and Joan Ryan (Anthony). Also survived by her sister-in-law Marguerite Barbeau and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Thursday, September 15, 2022 9:30-10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 7240 Walnut Street, Upper Darby, PA and to her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Ellen’s memory to Christ Lutheran Church at the above address, would be appreciated.
