Ferry, Mary A. (nee Fitzgerald), 93, on April 5, 2014, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Delaware County.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Ferry, Sr.; loving mother of Mary Anne Feiglstok (Gary) of West Chester, PA and Joseph P. Ferry (Nancy) of Perkasie, PA; loving grandmother of Chris, Michael, Noel, Suzanne, Megan and Colleen; loving great-grandmother of David and Sarah. She was preceded in death by brothers James and Robert; sister Katherine.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1920, Mary was the daughter of James M. and Mary A. (Bodkin) Fitzgerald, both deceased. She was born with a congential heart defect (Tetrology of Fallot) and was not expected to live past age 10. She had surgery at age 60 to correct defects.
Mary was a 1938 graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School and she received one of the first White-Williams Foundation scholarships.
She worked at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital as an office clerk and x-ray technician. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday eve and Thursday 8:30-9:20 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA, 610-431-9000 and to her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Agnes Church, 233 West Gay St, West Chester, PA. Int. Holy Cross Cem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Pocopson Home, 1695 Lenape Road, West Chester, PA 19382, would be appreciated.
