Eulogy for Our Mother, Mary Beadle Kissinger
Mary Beadle Kissinger had 3 siblings, Bill, Jean and John. As brothers
and sisters they all stayed in the area and stayed in touch as each of their
families grew. Because of that closeness we had a very large extended
family which made for some really good family memories. Many of you
here today share those memories.
I knew Mary as Mom, so today that is how I will speak of her' I sent a note
this week to a childhood friend that Mom had passed away. He responded,
"How she always seemed calm and happy walking'around a house filled
with anywhere from 8 to 18 kids in it, was quite an impressive feat!"
That was mom. She was impressive. Always peaceful and collected. She
would never raise her voice but she had a back up plan, "wait until your
father gets home!"(sorry dad, you dont get to defend yourself on that one
this time.) That generally calmed the rowdiest of situation in our house'
Mom did it all, cooking, cleaning, getting us out the door for school, to the
sporting: events, doctors, whatever needed to be done. First one up , last
one to bed every night that I can rememben
What she loved most was her family' 8 children, marry' many' Grand
Children and Great Grandchildren, she was so proud of them all. She
would sit back and watch at family events as our family of cousins, aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews filled a room. "Mom are you o.k." someone would
ask. "yes", she would reply, look how beautiful everyone is' How fortunate
we are to have this wonderful family"'Indeed, she was very' very happy'
While she loved her family I believe the most important part that we can
all take from her was her faith. she loved the church and she loved Jesus.
She believed fervently in the power of prayer. Praying the rosary
everyday just as her mother had, praying for each and everyone here
today. Her kitchen table filled with prayer cards for every situation'
This week our family has two celebrations. Today, we celebrate the life of
Mary Beadle Kissinger. She was a gift to all here today who had the
pleaiure to g'et to know her. She would want everyone to be happy and to
know that she loved You.
Our 2nd celebrations is a wedding this coming Friday. Mom would tell her
Grand Daughter Danielle to only cry tears of joy, how excited she is-to
have a new Grandson-in-law named Rich. Danielle, she will be smiling
with everyone who went before, looking down on you and Rich telling her
friends "look at our beautiful family."
