Mary Louise "Sissie" Simeone

Mrs. Mary L. Simeone (née Burghart), 95, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1926 and raised in Upper Darby, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (née Donnelly) Burghart.

Mary was the beloved and devoted wife, for over 70 years, of the late Albert Francis Simeone Sr; loving mother of Richard Simeone (Miriam) and Ronald Simeone Sr (Susan); dear mother-in-law of Theresa Simeone (the late Fran); devoted “Nanny” of Christine MacNeal (Rob), Amber Lindemann (Sven), Stacey Katona (Chris), Kimberly Keen (Joshua), Kelly Jordan (Ryan),  and Ronald Simeone Jr; proud great-grandmother of 3 great-granddaughters, 14 great-grandsons and 6 great-great-grandsons. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her son, Albert Simeone Jr. “Franny”; her brother, James Burghart; and grandson, Michael Simeone.

Affectionately nicknamed “Sissie”, she lived most of her adult life in West Chester, PA, where she and Albert raised their 3 sons.

She liked all animals, however, she loved dogs, especially her two toy poodles, Pepe 1 & Pepe 2.

Mary enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends, dancing and trips to the casino. Mary and Albert were almost always the first ones on the dance floor, especially when her song, “Proud Mary” came on. Most of all, her favorite thing was spending time with her family and loved ones.
