Mary Bernadette Mangold (née Gavin), age 70, of Newtown Square, PA, sadly passed away on January 20, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1954, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Theresa (née Flynn) Gavin.
Mary dedicated her professional life to serving as a secretary at Springfield Hospital, where her caring nature and meticulous attention to detail made her an invaluable member of the team. A devoted member of St. Anastasia Church, Mary attended daily Mass and found great joy in her faith.
Mary took immense pleasure in baking and was known for hosting delightful holiday dinners and family barbecues that brought everyone together.
A good cup of Tetley tea was often by her side and she also enjoyed unwinding with a white wine spritzer. She had a particular love for crab cakes, and her affinity for lottery tickets and scratch-offs added a fun spirited touch to her days.
Affectionately known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren, Mary’s greatest joy came from her time spent with them, particularly during summers spent down the shore. She treasured these moments, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Mary was the beloved wife of Walter Mangold; the loving mother of Matthew Mangold (Jennifer) and Maureen Mangold Williams (Justin). She was the caring and devoted grandmother of Jacob Williams, Ella Williams, Dylan Mangold, Connor Mangold, and Liam Mangold. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Kathleen Gavin Jordan (James) and Theresa Gavin Cogliano (the late William). Mary is predeceased by her brothers, Michael Gavin (Patricia) and Gerald Gavin (Sandra).
Relatives and friends are invited to remember Mary at her Visitation, Saturday, January 25, 2025, 9:15 - 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
