Mary McCulloch

Mary T. McCulloch (nee McErlean), age 82, of Wayne, PA on January 2, 2014. Beloved wife of the late William Gurd McCulloch. Daughter of the late Henry and Nora Lavin McErlean. Loving mother of Karney P. Samuelian. Dear grandmother of Karney, Jr., Bryan Samuelian and Jeanette Stump (Michael). Great-grandmother of Michael Stump, Jr. Sister of Catherine St. John, Michael and Anthony McErlean, Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Jane Hills, brothers Henry, Joseph and James (twins), John, Joseph and Edward McErlean.
Mary was born at home in Philadelphia in 1931. She attended St. Gregory School and graduated from Cecilian Academy in 1949. She received a certificate in Medical Technology from the University of Pennsylvania and a certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from Misercordia Hospital. Following employment at Sacred Heart Hospital, Norristown, she worked in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Delaware County Memorial Hospital until her father's stroke in 1969 which required her assistance. Upon his death in 1976, she accepted weekend employment at Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. McCulloch was a loving companion to her mother, Nora. They both volunteered at Mercy Hospice, St. John Kitchen and the Ronald MacDonald House until her mother's death in 1995. She was active in the Pro-Life Group and Senior Friends Club at St. Katharine's parish.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 9-10 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster and Aberdeen Avenues, Wayne, PA, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Elwyn Institute, Development Office, 111 Elwyn Road, Elwyn, PA 19063.
