Mary McGovern

Mary T. McGovern (nee Whoriskey), 85, of Media, Pa passed away on May 15, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Patrick Joseph and May (nee Breen) Whoriskey . Mary was a 1950 graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls. She loved Irish dancing, the Mummers, going on cruises, fishing, the casinos, playing bingo and cards, especially with her "Holly House" group. She always enjoyed dancing wherever there was music playing and also loved to eat out with her family and friends. Mary was the beloved wife for 43 years of the late Francis W. McGovern who passed away in 2008. She was the loving mother of Patrick (Vicki) Granahan, Maureen (Robert) Taylor, Kathleen (Rudy) Lagasca, Thomas Granahan, Sean Granahan, the late William Granahan, Frances (Eric) Leitermen and Michael (Christina) McGovern, caring sister of Patrick, Jack, George and the late Joseph Whoriskey, the adoring grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 16.
