Mary K. Short

Mary K. Short, Age 90, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Havertown, PA, passed away peacefully at Maris Grove on April 7, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (née Monahan) Friel. 

Mary was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School.  She worked as an administrative assistant in the William Penn School District for many years.

Mary was proud of her Irish heritage and loved Ireland and Irish dancing.  She enjoyed being on the beach in Ocean City, NJ and loved to entertain.  Above all, Mary treasured her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. 

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Michael A. Short; the loving mother of Michael Short (Margie), Bill Short (Kelly), Joe Short (Alice), and Regina Davies (Scott). She was the caring grandmother of Katie, Allie, and Megan Short, Kristen and Ryan Short, Brandon and Sophia Short, Shannon, Kerrianne, Patrick, and Conor Davies, and dear great-grandmother of Theodore Keebler. She is also survived by her many friends and the staff at Maris Grove.  She is predeceased by her brother, William Friel.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Saturday, April 23, 2022, 9:00 to 10:30 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA  19008, followed by her Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM.  Interment St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA.
