Mary Jane Thomson (nee Kelleher), age 92, of Springfield, PA, passed away on July 20, 2021. Born in Forest City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur S. and Mary Ethel Kelleher (nee Nicholls).
Mary Jane graduated from Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) in Mount Airy in 1949. She worked as an assembler at Shallcross Manufacturing Company in Collingsdale, Pa.
Mary Jane was the beloved wife of the late Howard P. Thomson and the loving mother of Margrethe “Greta” Thomson.
Mary Jane was a member of Pennsylvania Society for the Advancement of the Deaf (PSAD), Deaf-Hearing Communication Center (DHCC), Delaware Valley Telecommunications for the Deaf (DVTCD), Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Senior Citizens of Delaware Valley (DHHSCDV), Keystone Central Deaf Senior Citizens, and All Souls Church.
Mary Jane was known for her beautiful smile and amazing memory for names and birthdays. She was always the sweetest person in the room, someone who genuinely loved to talk with folks and listen to their stories.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 9:30-10:45 AM at Christ Church, 311 S. Orange St., Media, PA 19063, (610) 566-7525, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Pennsylvania School for Deaf, 100 W. School Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144 would be appreciated.
