Maureen Higgins

Maureen J. Higgins, age 47, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on August 26, 2014. Maureen was a graduate of Upper Darby High School. She served in the U.S. Navy then went to work with the United States Postal Service for 26 years. She was employed as Postmaster in Edgemoor, DE.



She was an exceptional athlete who played for many Women's Softball Teams. She was the first girl to play for H.P.K.A.A.'s baseball organization.



Maureen was the beloved daughter of Mary Higgins (nee McFadden) and the late Thomas J. Higgins. Loving sister of Thomas (Sharon) Higgins, Barbara (James) Friel, Kathleen (Marc) Munafo, Patrick Higgins, Christine (Martin) Gavigan, Sheila Higgins and the late Suzanne Higgins. She was Aunt Moe and "favorite Aunt" to her nieces and nephews Tommy, Joey, Jake, Jenny, Alissa, Marc, Matt, Lauren, Connor, Shannon, Ally. Also survived by her dogs Stewie and Oakley.
