Melchior Myers

Melchior “Mel” Myers, age 76, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on April 20, 2020.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Melchior Myers, Sr. and Lillian Myers (nee Strehlau).

Mel was a 1961 graduate of Upper Darby High School.   He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.

Mel retired from UPS where he had been employed for 25 years.  He was a member of the Upper Darby Fire Company 3, Station 37, a life member of East Lansdowne Fire Company, and Commissioner of the Delaware County Fire Police.  He was a member of the Greater Overbrook String Band and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lansdowne.

Mel spent many summers in Ocean City, NJ.   He enjoyed photography, woodworking and music.

Mel is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Myers (nee Yaglinski), his loving children Julie Doucas (Stephen), Lori Hetch (David), Sheri Myers and Andrew Myers and his grandchildren Kayla, Lillian and Philip.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, services and interment will be held at a later date.
