Melvin Cook Boyd, 87, passed away peacefully October 8, 2018 at his home in Shannondell, Audubon, PA, formerly of Berwyn, PA.
Born January 4, 1931 in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Melvin and Florence (nee Conn) Boyd.
He was a graduate of Penn State University and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy.
His business career in merchandising and advertising started at Lee's Carpets/Burlington Industries and blossomed with the formation and long term success of Boyd, Tamney & Cross Advertising Agency, currently known as BTC headquartered in Wayne, PA. He served his community in many ways, including as a longtime member of Easttown Township zoning hearing board and board of supervisors rising to chairman.
He was long time parishioner at The Church of St Monica in Berwyn.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Alice (nee McLaughlin); loving father of Timothy Boyd (Sandra), Marybeth Eckhardt (Steve), and Peter Boyd (Kathleen); and adoring Pop-Pop of Marion, Matthew, Margaret, William, Andrew and Julia. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael.

Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Monica Church, 635 First Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312 with his Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment St. Monica Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Covenant House Pennsylvania.
