Michael Basden, age 58, of Havertown, Upper Darby Township, passed away on June 18, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William R. and Joan Basden (nee Scott). Michael was a graduate of Upper Darby High School. He was employed as a contractor for Richard Egan Painting.
Michael was an avid Phillies baseball fan. He loved watching his boys play sports for St. Bernadette School, Monsignor Bonner High School and Cardinal O'Hara High School. He loved holidays and being with friends and neighbors. Michael was an extremely hardworking person.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ann M. Basden (nee McGettigan), his children Andrew M., Matthew J., and Jesse T., his siblings Debbie (Fred) Eddinger, Terri Posse, Dawn Quigley (George), Jeff Basden and Jennifer Breedlove and his nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Thursday 9:30-10:30 AM St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA followed by his Memorial Service at 10:30 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Monsignor Bonner Scholarship Fund, 403 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 or the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214 would be appreciated.
