Michael J. Chappelle

Michael J. Chappelle, age 65, passed away on January 28, 2025. Beloved son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Carlin) Chappelle.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Sherry A. (nee Lock) Chappelle; stepsons, Elton Koroly and Elliott Koroly; granddaughter Lily Koroly; siblings, Karen Curley (late Robert), Donna Bowser (Ken), David Chappelle (Catherine), Mary Stahler (John), and Jeanne Brahl (Kevin). He was predeceased by his sister Maureen Simpson and brothers, Joseph Chappelle and Dan Chappelle (Stephanie). Also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

Michael had an insatiable passion for life, evident in his many hobbies and interests. He was a lover of outdoor activities, often found hiking in the beauty of nature or tending to his yard, which he cherished dearly. His fondness for the beach and warm summer days brought joy to his soul. An avid reader, Michael had a deep appreciation for literature, always eager to immerse himself in the pages of a good book.

Music was another integral part of Michael’s life, as he adored all genres and often shared his love for melodies with those around him. He had a keen interest in current events and was passionate about engaging with the world around him, always striving to be informed and aware.

Travel was a highlight of Michael's life, as he found immense joy in exploring new places. He was fortunate enough to journey across the globe, both for work and pleasure. Some of his favorite destinations included Ocean City NJ, the breathtaking shores of Maui, Hawaii, Kauai Hi, China, New Zealand, as well as notable visits in Europe such as Paris, Germany, and Amsterdam. Each trip added a new chapter to his life story, filled with rich experiences and cherished memories.

Michael will be remembered not just for his passions but for the countless lives he touched with his kindness and infectious enthusiasm. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will resonate within the hearts of many. Renowned for his generous spirit and magnetic personality. He endeared himself to friends and family alike with his good sense of humor and his talkative nature, making every gathering a memorable occasion.

Family and friends are invited to Michael’s Viewing on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.
