Michael Marcelli

Michael P. Marcelli, age 95, of Villanova, PA, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Fiorvante and Esther (nee Castagna) Marcelli.

Michael was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School.  He went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He attended University of Pennsylvania’s School of Fine Arts where he graduated, Class of 1951.  Michael was a self-employed architect and urban planner.

Michael was the beloved husband of the late Mary Catharine (nee Fratis) Marcelli; the loving father of  Michele Shea (Michael), Michael Marcelli (Simmer), Mitchel Marcelli, Marissa Pape (Robert), Marta Moyer and Matthew Marcelli (Heidi).  He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Marcelli (the late Marianna), and his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his siblings, Frederick Marcelli and Marian Billek.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Monday, February 8, 2021, 9:30 – 10:45 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Villanova University Main Campus - 800 Lancaster Avenue, Viillanova, PA  19085, followed by his Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM.  Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
