Michael Joseph Semes, Esq.

Michael Joseph Semes, Esq., a distinguished attorney and passionate musician, entered into eternal rest on March 10, 2025, at the age of 67.

Born in Braddock, PA, he was the son of the late Leo and Pauline (née Yates) Semes, who lived a life rich with passion, dedication, and service to others.

Before embarking on his esteemed law career, Michael was a proud member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, where his love for music flourished. He went on to attain a distinguished legal career, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. Michael’s educational journey began at Penn Trafford High School in Pittsburgh, PA, followed by an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University. He furthered his education with a Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and ultimately received his Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University.

Michael was known for his deep faith in the Lord, a cornerstone of his life that guided him through both personal and professional challenges. He was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with loved ones. Whether hosting gatherings for family and friends or engaging in meaningful conversations, he had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and valued.

An avid fitness enthusiast, Michael enjoyed cycling and running. He was particularly proud of achieving a personal milestone last year when he completed his first marathon, showcasing his commitment to maintaining an active lifestyle.

Michael was the beloved husband of Linda Ayella Semes; the loving father of Maria Lucia Semes (fiancé Conrad Jones), Clare Elena Semes (Jeffrey Beecher), Amy Catherine Semes, and Carolyn Kolbe Semes. He is also survived by his brother, Leo P. Semes, and sister-in-law, Diana Rizzo.

A viewing will be held in his honor on March 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Pius X Church, located at 220 Lawrence Rd, Broomall, PA 19008. The Funeral Mass celebrating his life will take place the following day, March 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
