Mona McCloskey
February 4, 1938 — January 7, 2019
MONA L. McCloskey 80, passed away on January 7, 2019, of West Chester, PA formerly of Drexel Hill, PA.
She received her nursing degree from Philadelphia General Hospital (PGH) and wore her Blockley frill with great pride throughout her career. She served her country as an Army nurse and then worked for 40 years at Delaware County Memorial Hospital as nursing supervisor and later as manager in Pre-Admission Testing. She was well respected by her peers and loved by her patients.
Mona was also a culinary wizard and her Christmas parties were legendary.
She had a great sense of humor and her laugh was infectious. She was a selfless woman, an extraordinary caregiver, and a loyal friend.
Her legacy is one of love and compassion.
She taught us all well.
Mona was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was the beloved wife of the late Louis E, McCloskey; loving mother of Mark (Carolyn), Glenn (Leslie), Gregory (Mary) and Claire Carlson (Douglas); devoted grandmother of Kyle, Shane, Ian, Cameron, Patrick, Brian, Maura, Madison, Kendal and Kaitlyn.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-10:20 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at SS Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Saunders House, 100 E Lancaster Ave, Wynnewood, PA 19096.
